The course is led by Dario Grabarić, one of the most respected and competent WSET educators for spiritualists in the Balkans. The participants emphasize him because of his extremely clear, inspiring and practical way of teaching, as well as his ability to make complex topics understandable and applicable in practice.
With Dario, participants receive the highest level of WSET education for spiritualists in the region.

🥃  Tastings during the course
In accordance with the WSET specification, 30 carefully selected samples of different spirit categories are tasted during the program: whisky, cognac, armagnac, rum, tequila, mezcal, gin, vodka, liqueurs, amaro and flavored wines.

📚 What is taught in the course?
The program is fully aligned with the official WSET Learning Outcome standard and includes:
1️⃣ Production and factors affecting the style of spirits
    • raw materials (sugars, starch, esters), fermentation
    • pot still vs column still distillation
    • post-distillation techniques: aging, filtration, color, blending
2️⃣ All main categories of spirit drinks
    • whiskey (Scotch, Irish, American, Canadian, Japanese)
    • fruit distillates (Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, Grappa, Pisco)
    • rums of all styles
    • vodka (neutral and characterful)
    • tequila and mezcal (agave, styles, labelling)
3️⃣ Flavored spirits & flavored wines
    • gin (London Dry, Distilled, Contemporary)
    • spiced rum, flavored vodka
    • aniseed spirits, bitter spirits, liqueurs
    • vermouth, americano, quinquina
4️⃣ Basics of cocktails and balance of flavors
    • strong vs weak
    • bitter/sour vs sweet
    • cocktail families: short sour, long sour, highball, spirit-forward

🎓 Exam and certificate
    • 50 multiple-choice questions
    • 60 minutes
    • 55% for passing
    • certificate and medallion arrive directly from WSET (London)
